Fluorescence stopped-flow with dual cw laser excitation
This is one of many stopped-flows in the lab, nearly all of which are designed and built by us. These rapid-mixing devices allow two solutions to be flowed together and mixed within ~ 1 msec. The subsequent reaction is monitored in real time on a time scale ranging from msec to minutes. In our lab, stopped-flow initiated reactions are monitored via fluorescence, absorbance, light-scattering and circular dichroism. Data are analyzed using our own custom software for extensive fitting to detailed molecular mechanisms. All of our instruments are temperature-controlled.
